In this world of technology, we are making our lives better and better in terms of comfort, joyfulness, entertainment and much more but most of the people always remain unhappy. The main reason behind this is COMPARING ONESELF WITH OTHERS. This is the evilest thing which makes us away from happiness.
Let's have a look why and when do we compare ourselves with others?
Let's have a look why and when do we compare ourselves with others?
- The very first reason behind this is Social Media. Social Media is such a place where people more often compare themselves with other people. They compare themselves with the people having better looks, a good number of friends, a good job, good number of likes, comment, followers and so on. The major section who is affected by this is youth because they remain much more active on these social media and most of the time stay unhappy.
- The second thing is relatives. Most of the people are unhappy with their relatives. They constantly compare themselves with their relative's success, comforts, social status and blah blah blah.In this section, the number of middle-aged persons is very high.
- The students in the schools or colleges compare themselves with their intelligent classmates, their famous friends in the campus or the well-going relationship of their best friend and so on.
- In offices or working places also people compare themselves with their colleagues whom they consider superior in hell lots of things either in position, salary or personality etc.
- There are some people also who compare themselves with someone who has not any physical existence in their life, like celebrities, sports persons etc but yet they compare themselves with these personalities.
Now, what is the solution for this?..... The solution is hidden inside our perspective of seeing things.
Let's solve this problem.
Let's solve this problem.
- Now, one should have to understand that all the happy faces on social media are not internally happy. It is a good platform to show off for most of the people and so they do the same. So don't just jump into the act of comparison. And even if they are really happy then instead of comparing just learn from them how and why they are happy. Thus REMOVE COMPARING WITH LEARNING.
- Always keep in mind that there will always be someone who is more beautiful, funnier, wiser or richer. One should accept this fact to lead a happy life without worrying about others superiority.
- Another thing to keep yourself away from comparing with others and being affected by inferiority complex is to make a DOWNWARD COMPARISON with those who are not up to your mark and who are suffering more than you are.
- Last but not the least is making a habit of practising GRATITUDE. Try to write in a diary or notebook and read it, whatever good things are happening with you, whatever the things which you take pride in yourself or just be thankful for whatever you have. This is a very effective way to get rid of the act of comparison.
“Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle, or your middle to someone else's end. Don't compare the start of your second quarter of life to someone else's third quarter.” _ Tim Hiller
